Wine Tours – Where Wine Can Be Tasted Properly

Friday, October 31st, 2008

Wine tasting is not a sport and not a hobby… It is an experience. Many choose a wine tasting tour as a modern way to spend holidays, as wine tasting tours usually include going to the country side, where one can enjoy ambience, relaxation and good company. This tends to be a physically and mentally rejuvenating experience. Depending on the continent and country, wine tasting tours are sometimes located on the most beautiful beaches, then other times inland and in hills, where grapes are growing all year round.

One might think that full appreciation of a wine tasting tour will benefit only true wine lovers, but after a third glass we can most certainly conclude, that everybody will blend in and feel great. It is best to start with local wine tours and then build up to wine tasting vacations in more distant territories. Article by Montagu Accommodation

For wine tasting beginners or if going abroad, it is best to take a guided tour to places where wineries are located. These tours usually include renowned and well-known wineries and guided wine tasting sessions hosted by professional wine experts. These sessions can be an exceptional eye opener for the novice, but also for the experienced wine enthusiast. One gets to taste a wide variety of wines at the places where they are manufactured. Also much can be learned about wine making, storage, food matching and also about history of the wine and wine lovers from local history – especially in Europe where this frequently includes kings and aristocracy.

The best thing is that there is also food served besides wine, and this completes an enjoyable event. Wine tasting tours can go on for hours, and if you attend organized tours – which is an exceptional way to spend your vacation – you get to travel around from winery to winery and learn about new places that often astound you with their beauty.. You also meet new, like-minded people so you can share your findings, thoughts, preferences and tastes. Guided tours include everything already organized – your meals, the wine that go with the meals, your hotel rooms, transportation and lastly the wineries to visit for the tasting sessions. To attend a wine tasting session you do not need any knowledge as there are no prerequisites. Everybody can attend as sessions are guided, and one learns everything on the way. If you are a complete beginner, it is best to look around and copy behavior of others. This especially includes sipping the wine slowly, keeping it in the mouth for a few seconds, while moving it around all areas of your mouth and tongue, so that every taste sensor comes in touch with it. You can also close your eyes and most of all try to get as much feedback from your sensors as possible – and then compare your findings to what your guide is describing.

Wine tours are not only about wine tasting. Ultimately at the end of every tour you can buy wine that you liked, and for many this is a start of their own private wine collection. Attending such wine tasting session also teaches you a lot about the way the grapes are cultivated and collected, about local folklore, and finally how grapes get processed for the wine. The bottom line – while enjoying these tours you will have the best time ever. After a few local tours you really might consider a wine tour as a way to spend your holidays and after you have returned from your first wine tasting tour, you will probably make a list of all the continents and countries you want to visit to continue your quest for good taste. Have Fun When Sightseeing In Barça!

Wednesday, October 22nd, 2008

Are you planning a trip to Barcelona? Why not rent accommodation Barcelona but include a few days exploration outside Barcelona, to see the sights of Catalonia, namely the beautiful mountain monastery “Montserrat”. Roughly 45 minutes by train from Barcelona, it is an impressive sandstone mountain more than 1220m high. The Benedictine Monastery on the edge of the mountain might not be the most beautiful in Catalonia; nevertheless, it is where pilgrims come each year. The reason for this is “La Moreneta” (Black Virgin), a wooden sculpture from the 12th century, which was declared the patron saint of Catalonia by the Pope in 1881. The nearby hills with small churches and spectacular views invite you to discover the surroundings by foot.

During the reign of the Romans, Tarragona was the capital of Catalonia. The centre of Tarragona bears immense archaeological treasures of these former times. The remains of the Roman amphitheatre as well as a market street and several temples are witnesses of thousand-year-old history. Next to the ruins of a Roman circus the mighty Catedral de Santa Tecla dominates the centre. The Museu Nacional Arqueològico (Archaeological Museum) demonstrates impressively the colourful history of Tarragona. UNESCO declared the old town a World Heritage Site in 2001. Tarragona can be reached from Barcelona in only 45 minutes by car or train.

Girona is a charming town about one hour by car from Barcelona. Girona’s history is very lively as it is located near the French border and so was occupied several times in the past. The massive city walls are all that remains of these times. The mighty cathedral built between the 11th and 15th century dominates the medieval heart of the city. Behind the Gothic façade you will find one of the largest naves in the world. The Banys Arabs, Arabic spas that were probably built in the 13th century by the Moors, as well as the medieval Jewish quarter Call Jueu are worth visiting.

Finally, leave your apartment Barcelona or hotels in Barcelona and take a trip to Figueres, about two hours by train or car from Barcelona, it is the home of the second most visited museum in Spain (after the Prado in Madrid): the Teotro-Museu Dalí. The former theatre of Figueres is now run by the Fundació Gala and Salvador Dalí and exhibits numerous eccentric pieces of the famous Catalonian artist. The museum has become a cult site, as Dalí insisted to be entombed here. Figueres reminds of cities in the south of France and invites you to stroll through the old streets.

Succinct Review Of The Charming Beaches Leisure Resort In Jamaica

Sunday, October 12th, 2008

Looking for creative ideas for a family vacation? Something that will actually be fun for all ages?

If so, consider booking an upcoming stay at the Beaches Jamaica resort in Negril. Keep reading for a broad review of the resort and its facilities.

Very Kid-Friendly

This is not a resort for honeymooning couples or adults looking for some rest and relaxation. Beaches Jamaica is very much targeted toward children, and a large portion of the resort is dedicated to children’s activities and distractions – making it perfect for family vacations.

For families with kids, the resort offers several daycare centers, numerous Sesame Street themed activities (characters walking around and live shows), water slides, day trips for teens, story time and even infant care. The major appeal is that they have a variety of activities targeted toward each age group – meaning your teen and toddler won’t wind up at the same activity center.

At times, the resort can seem a little too kid-friendly. There are characters from Sesame Street running around and numerous acres devoted to kid’s playgrounds and facilities. However, if you’re a parent, this can be a great way to simply enjoy the beach and rest safe knowing your children are entertained and cared for.

Fitness Center is High Tech

If you’re a fitness buff, this is going to be a huge draw. Beaches Negril has an incredible fitness center along with numerous daily aerobic classes ranging from the low-impact water aerobics to high-energy kickboxing.

Numerous A La Carte Restaurants

Anyone who has spent a week at an all-inclusive resort knows that the same buffet night after night can get tiring after a while. To avoid food boredom, locating a resort with numerous a la carte restaurants is key. Jamaica Negril offers 6 restaurants ranging from a beachside cafe to fine and elegant dining.

Beach is Too Open

Probably the biggest complaint from guests is that they are constantly barraged by people on the beach selling their goods and wares. While most tourists want to buy a few items during their stay, constantly being approached by vendors does not make an ideal vacation.

Small, Closet-Sized Rooms

Unless you’re opting for a deluxe suite or large room, you’ll find the accommodations pretty small at Beaches Negril Jamaica. That said, if you’re sharing one room among a family of four, you may want to consider upgrading to a larger room.

The Final Word

Beaches Jamaica is a fantastic vacation option for a family. There are tons of options for the kids and a range of activities for a range of ages. The one major drawback? The room sizes don’t comfortably accommodate a family.

Expected Advantages And Disadvantages Of A Sandals Honeymoon Experience

Sunday, October 12th, 2008

Brides who take care of their own wedding preparations have a lot of details to juggle. They need to coordinate the location of the ceremony, find a reliable photographer, possibly hire a DJ for the reception, and lots more. One of the more enjoyable details, however, should be in making plans for the honeymoon – especially if in an exotic location. Sandals is one of the more favorable spots around the world.

Sandals honeymoons are the bulk of the resort company’s business – with the majority of their guests being honeymooning couples. All Sandals’ resorts are adult’s only and designed for romance and luxury. So, if you’re planning a Sandals vacation for your honeymoon, keep reading to learn the pros and cons that you can anticipate.

A Predictable Experience

While Sandals offers the ultimate in luxury, many couples complain that their honeymoon took on a “cookie-cutter” feeling, like the resort was little more than a honeymoon factory.

However, their honeymoon experience is also one of their best assets. Sandals does honeymoons and they do them well – from the luxurious settings to the exquisite spas, the resort company has earned their strong reputation.

To make your Sandals honeymoon experience a little more original or personalized, try booking a few side trips or activities with your trip. A short tour through the city, a day spent windsurfing or an afternoon exploring nearby caves are all great ways to add your own touch to this important vacation.

Interaction With Other Couples

While Sandals honeymoons are by nature, a private retreat for couples, there are still many opportunities to interact with other couples. With social lounges, bars, poolside cafes and restaurants, you’ll often find yourself mingling with other honeymooners or couples on vacation.

Some people love the social aspect of a Sandals trip and the opportunity to meet other couples, while others prefer something a little more secluded. One option is to spend the extra money on a private suite, which often includes a private, personal pool.

Adults Only

Probably the most attractive feature of Sandals’ resorts is that there are no kids allowed. Instead of a trip plagued by packs of crying children, you can enjoy the peace and tranquility of a vacation just for you.

Single parents who are marrying and plan to bring their children with them for a family honeymoon may have to check out Beaches – the family alternative for Sandals fans.

Can Be Costly

For a week, that’s just over a minimum of $2100, plus your airfare. However, unlike many expensive resorts, Sandals definitely follows through on their five-star rating and has a strong reputation to prove it.

There’s one thing that Sandals honeymoons do particularly well, and that’s provide excellent, all-inclusive and luxury service to every guest. Year after year, the resort company wins awards, reviews and accolades from past guests thanks to their high level of quality and service.

Having An Adventure To The Island

Saturday, October 11th, 2008

It’s good to take a vacation once in a while and take away all the stress and tension from work. Having a great adventure out of town or going to the beach and watch beautiful ladies in bikinis is a great way to relax and forget about computers and paperworks. Speaking of beaches we had a great weekend last month where me and my guy friends went to an island which is not very well known out of our town.
There were a lot of stories about that island but as boys we were more determined to find out the truth ourselves on what lyes beyond it. Before the day would come we bought a lot of things like shelter and food so we brought along with us a tent, a lot of food, clothing, sleeping beds, utensils, tools, lotions and Sunglasses for protection.
Getting there was more than an adventure first we have to take a barge to cross the sea from which that island and the city has been separated. And then take a ride to get near the mountain from which the island has been covered. After that we climb up the rocky hill and hiked a short distance down to a the entrance of a small residence that looks like a home. From there we realized it was a beautiful resort. A beach of white sand and clear water, rocky mountains and fine limestones, tall trees and lots of nipa huts to stay in. We didn’t expect that it would be that beautiful.
Finally we had arrived to the beautiful resort at first we thought we were alone but there are group of people that came ahead of us. Just as we thought there were beautiful ladies in their bikinis walking along the shore, some women reading in their Designer Reading Glasses while sunbathing on the beach, others where cooking and playing.
So we jumped right in the water and joined the fun without even changing our clothes. The day was full of fun until finally evening came. the night was more beautiful than the day. Sunburned and exhausted as we went home. Some of us cleaning their eyeglasses from the thick dust nevertheless the experience was great and awesome.

Travel Malaysia Tips

If you’re thinking of a business trip or personal holiday, you should travel to Malaysia. Why Malaysia? What does Malaysia have that other countries do not? I am a Malaysian and I can give you genuine reasons why Malaysia should be your destination of choice for business or pleasure.

Firstly, the cost of living is low but the standard of living is high. That means you can buy lots of products of international standards but at a far cheaper price than in developed countries. Malaysia has all the modern facilities and infrastructure that you find in New York, London or Paris but at only a small fraction of its costs. In fact Malaysia has more kilometers of highway than the whole circumference of the earth! Not to mention exciting tourist destinations such as the Petronas Twin Towers, Petroscience Center, Suria KLCC, Midvalley Mega Mall, Starhill Gallery, the National Museum, the Lake Gardens, Palace of the Golden Horses etc.

Secondly, the country enjoys peace and stability socially, economically and politically. Since its independence in 1957, Malaysia has experienced rapid growth. Its economy has evolved from a primary industries-based economy into a robust and competitive diverse economy that sees Malaysia as one of the world’s top producers of microchips, automobiles, electronic equipment, food-based products and natural resources. In fact, Malaysians treat their country’s visitors very well. This is why tourism plays such a big part in Malaysia’s economy. This means that you can enjoy your stay in Malaysia with complete peace of mind and be pampered by the genuine warmth and hospitality that is uniquely Malaysia.

Thirdly, the country is free from all natural disasters. No other country in South-East Asia has such stable climate and ecological conditions except Singapore (which used to be part of Malaysia). In Malaysia there are no earthquakes, hurricanes, typhoons, volcanic eruptions, tsunamis, cyclones etc. So when you are in Malaysia, you will enjoy its warm and sunny weather with a constant day-time temperature of about 30 degrees Celcius and night-time temperature of about 27 degrees. Even during monsoon season (late November through to December), its rainy weather is mild because the country is shielded from the full effects of the South West monsoon by the island of Sumatra (part of Indonesia) on its West.

Fourthly, the country is a blend of East and West. You will find all the Western modern amenities ranging from large shopping malls to state-of-the-art business facilities and plush hotels. At the same time, you will also discover the Eastern culture and lifestyles of family businesses, small shops, simple wooden houses in small villages where respect for the elderly, discipline for the children and a sense of personal modesty is practiced.

Fifthly, the people of Malaysia live in peace and harmony. They are a true model of inter-racial, inter-religious and inter-cultural unity. In fact, Malaysia is known as the Rainbow nation of Asia for precisely this reason. In Malaysia, you will witness the lifestyles of the various races that live there such as the Malays, Chinese, Indians, Kadazans, Ibans, Dusuns, Muruts, Dayaks, Bajaus and about 35 other indigenous ethnic groups.

As a Malaysian, I warmly introduce you and welcome you to my country, Malaysia. When you come to Malaysia, you will have a most memorable stay whether for your business or holiday.
