Sunday, November 30th, 2008

There are many vacation destinations throughout the world that are suitable for romantic getaways. If you find yourself having a hard time narrowing down your vacation to just one destination, you are encouraged to examine St. Thomas.

St. Thomas, situated in the Caribbean, is one of the “hottest,” vacation destinations in the entire world. What may interest you the most is that St. Thomas is well-known for its romantic vacations. For many years now, thousands of couples have been making their way to St. Thomas to enjoy a private, intimate, and romantic vacation.

The Caribbean is well known for its wonderful, tropical weather. For many couples, a tropical climate is the best place to take a romantic getaway. To many, romance is about being intimate. The wonderful weather allows you to be intimate on a number of different levels. The tropical weather often means sexy clothing and bathing suits. This alone is enough to generate romance between a couple.

In addition to the weather, St. Thomas is a popular romantic getaway destination because of the many beach resorts that can be found on the island. Many of these resorts are designed for individuals of all ages, but others are designed for adults only. If you are interesting in making St. Thomas your next vacation destination, you may want to think about vacationing at a resort that has an age restriction in place.

Adults only St. Thomas resorts are an ideal way to generate romance while on vacation. In addition to the lack on kids on the resort, many resorts do their best to create an exotic or romantic atmosphere. This atmosphere is most often apparent in many hotel rooms. A number of resorts are known to offer rooms with a view of the ocean and in-room jacuzzis or hot tubs. If you are able to book a stay at one of these resorts, you may never even want to leave your room!

Aside from the romantic rooms, many St. Thomas beach resorts offer onsite activities that are romantic in nature. You may find guided boat tours, guided snorkeling tours, or guided scuba diving tours. In addition to guided water tours, horseback riding along the shoreline is popular in many areas of St. Thomas. Horseback riding is a romantic way to start or end your day. Additional activities may be available; but, it will all depend on the resort in question.

While vacationing in St. Thomas, even if you are staying at a large beach resort, it is likely that you would want to get out and see everything that the island has to offer. In many areas of the world sightseeing is considered boring and sometimes even unromantic. In the Caribbean it is another story. While visiting inland dining restaurants, shopping centers, parks, and famous attractions, you will see that romance is in the air everywhere. This is most often because of the topical climate. The warm and sunny weather makes it ideal to spend your day touring the island. Going On A Cruise: Perfect Couples’ Romantic Travel

Friday, November 28th, 2008

With the stresses of work, family schedules, finances and kids, most couples need the occasional break - a romantic retreat to rekindle their romance, invigorate their relationship and give them time to simply relax.

If you’re looking for the perfect romantic getaway that combines worry-free planning, all-inclusive budgeting and romantic sparkle, cruise travel is a great option.

To learn about how to book the best romantic cruise for you and your loved one - regardless of your cruise destination - keep reading for great tips on everything from what to look for in a cruise ship to how to get the best deals for your spouse.

Opt For a Cruise with an Age Limit

The last thing you want on your romantic getaway is to be surrounded by toddlers on their way to a puppet show at the children’s pool. So, book a cruise with an enforced age limit.

Most cruise lines offer cruises that restrict boarding to both individuals 25 and older or married individuals 21 and older. The bulk of these cruises are specifically targeted toward couples and will offer amenities like increased room service, couples’ massages, formal dining and couples’ activities.

If you’re unable to find a cruise with an age limit that’s right for you, most ships offer areas, including pools that are adults-only.

Stay Away From “Singles” Cruises

In contrast to couples’ cruises, some cruise lines offer cruise vacations that are specifically for single travelers or the ’spring break’ party crowd. Unless you want to spend your romantic getaway immersed in loud dance music and terrible pick up lines, you’re going to want to stay away from these options.

Pick a Boat Size That Works For You

A larger boat may have more passengers and a less intimate “feel,” but it also allows for greater anonymity while on-board ship and a larger range of facilities. When choosing a ship, think about what’s important for you in terms of privacy and boat size.

Get the Balcony

As tempting as it may be to book an inside cabin for a discount, know that the space is small and often windowless. If this cruise is a once-in-a-lifetime romantic treat, it’s time to splurge and opt for a cabin with a romantic balcony. When you’re watching the stars go by from bed, you’ll be thankful.

How to Get Great Couples’ Deals

Booking as a couple gives you an advantage. You can often look for “companion” rates that apply to either cabin bookings or air fare to your port. Many cruise lines and some air carriers offer a companion discount for couples traveling together.

Honeymoon Vacation

Tuesday, November 25th, 2008

Many people get the idea that honeymoon vacation destination should be spent in an exotic location where it’s located half way around the world. However, you have to consider that this kind of thinking will mean spending a lot more money for your wedding. If you’re wedding exhausted all your resources, you should opt for a honeymoon destination that is cheaper.
Let’s admit it, wedding costs are no joke. There’s the whole wedding hullabaloo, not to mention the honeymoon. And of course, you definitely want to enjoy the honeymoon where it’s just the two of you together. And more than just being a time spent with your loved one, your honeymoon vacation destination is the perfect place to relax yourselves after a busy wedding ceremony, and be treated like royalties and enjoy all the amenities of luxury. Although it is always good to be frugal, settle for anything less than what you and your loved one deserve. While some may have the money to enjoy an all-expense luxurious honeymoon get-away, it’s also easy to create the romantic ambience and enjoy the perfect honeymoon vacation without busting your pockets
Of course, you still have to go on a honeymoon in a romantic location. First of all, try and think of a honeymoon vacation destination that is nearer. This can cut the cost and will be as romantic as any kind of honeymoon. If you live in California and you had your wedding there, you can try and consider Hawaii as your honeymoon location rather than go to the Caribbean which is much farther and will cost much more expensive.

When you need to fly to go to your destination, you should consider getting an economy seat in the flight. Besides, when you reach your destination, you can relax all you want and with the economy seat in the plane instead of the first class seat, you can be sure that you will save hundreds of dollars for you and your new spouse’s plane tickets.
Las Vegas. The ultimate gaming experience, not to mention the color lights and sounds make Vegas the whirlwind wedding and honeymoon setting. There are many cheap vacation packages offered by many hotels and resorts, with discount rates from lodging, meals and entertainment.

And because the honeymoon is all about just being the two of you together, you need not even go out of town or out of the country. Scout your local area for some place you can explore. Or with just candles and champagne and the two of you together, your honeymoon can be perfect – and cheap – in just the comforts of your new house.

After a day running around seeing the shows and enjoying the rides you will want to visit the famous Knott’s Chicken Dinner Restaurant. Delicious fried chicken, mouth-watering biscuits and everything topped off with their famous boysenberry pie. It cannot be beat.

Further up Interstate 5 you come to Six Flags Magic Mountain, which is full of roller coasters of every type. For the very young there is a children’s area with rides they will love. Be prepared for higher temperatures in the summer than Disneyland or Knott’s, but if you have teenagers or if you love adventure yourself you do not want to miss it.

Heading south on Interstate 5 about 150 miles you come to a fairly new amusement park, LegoLand. With over 50 rides, shows and attractions it is another Southern California amusement park that takes at least a full day to get around.

They have rides especially for the very young including a miniature train and a boat ride that gently takes you through some favorite fairy tales. There are several water play areas and of course legos to play with. For older children and adults there are roller coasters, water rides, and more.

All of these parks are loaded with fun and all are located a short drive from each other. If you are traveling from out of the area and plan to stay in a hotel, there are many that offer shuttles that provide easy transportation to and from the parks.

Once a tranquil fishing village, Cabo has evolved into a wonderful spot for vacationers but remains small and charming. Small however does not mean boring, there are many things to do in Cabo.

Deserted beaches, on both the Pacific coast and along the shoreline of the Sea of Cortez, make Cabo San Lucas an awesome beach vacation. If you enjoy water sports, boating, marlin fishing, horseback riding and golf, you will enjoy Cabo. Golf has become very popular in the area and there are five championship golf courses already here and more on the way.

Cabo San Lucas is a perfect mexico vacation spots spot for those looking for something different. It can be quiet and relaxing for a romantic getaway or it can be a place where you will keep going till you drop with the whole family.

Small but impressive, the ruins are perched high on top of limestone cliffs that offer a breathtaking view below of the sparkling Caribbean and a romantic coastline.

The little town of Tulum is slowly expanding and there are several very good local restaurants and a few on the beach in the smattering of hotels in the area. Accommodations range from five star boutique hotels to rustic cabanas.

It is a much slower paced vacation and a combination of 3-4 days in Playa Del Carmen and 2-3 days in Tulum is a great way to combine the best of both worlds in these treasured spots.
