Isaac Toussie Comments On The Square of The Three Powers

Tuesday, September 22nd, 2009

In 1956, Brazil’s progressive president, Juscelino Kubitschek, announced a design competition for an ambitious new capital. The new city was to be built entirely anew, on an uninhabited plateau in the middle of the country – literally in the middle of nowhere, calling to mind Utopia, which literally means “no place” in the Greek, thus symbolizing the hopes of national advancement for the enormous South American country. Lucio Costa’s winning plan described an environment that faithfully reflected the principles of Le Corbusier and the 1933 Athens Charter of CIAM, or Congres Internationaux d’Architecture Moderne. Thus Costa conceived the future capital in a cruciform layout, with a division of space according to the theory of single-function zoning. All but now discredited as inhospitable in practice, with its wide lonely spaces opening to no human conveniences for several kilometers at a time, the design of Brasilia remains of historical importance nonetheless for being the most concrete – literally – expression of the desire for progress and the belief in democracy, Isaac Robert Toussie submits.

In the heart of Brasilia lay the Square of the Three Powers, and it was Oscar Niemeyer who was commissioned for its buildings. Indeed, this is the focal point of the city, with its governmental facilities catering to the highest administrative functions of a democracy. Thus the buildings of the Square are positioned triangularly relative to one another, symbolizing the balance of institutional functions. Immense porticos built into the very structure of these buildings further suggest the accessibility of democracy, affording citizens easy entry while symbolizing the proximity of the public to power. The Senate Chamber is an overturned dome, dynamic and revolutionary, while the two towers of the Parliament Building stand solidly against the sky, overlooking all Brasilia as if guardians. Enormous glass walls adorn most structures here, to suggest the transparency of democratic governance. This creates a fascinating effect, states Isaac Toussie. Statutes and other sculpture dot the broad expanse of Brasilia’s many public spaces, telling of the country’s history and aspirations.

The reality of those dreams remain to be fulfilled to this day, as Brazil, one of the largest economies in the world, with enormous natural resources at its disposal, continues to search for its way among the nations. Dream and reality, indeed, inform its Square of the Three Powers; whether contemplating the various forms of modernism at ground level or noticing its bird-like spread from the air, the city of Brasilia and its heart, the Square, seems ever poised, like the country, upon the verge of flight, soaring and free. Though its very existence has revealed all the limitations of zoning theories in urban planning, not to mention costing the nation several whole fortunes to build and maintain, Brasilia has been added to UNESCO’s World Heritage List and is perhaps the most thought-provoking urban experience on the planet. I, Isaac Toussie, believe further study on this matter is warranted for anyone interested in Brazillian architecture.

Many Ideas That Can Save A Wedding Day Tragedy

Saturday, September 19th, 2009

Hopefully you’ve read Bridal Bible Part 1, which is the beginnings of planning your wedding. If not, no worries. This is Part 2, with or without the first installment will give you direction, and help put your mind at ease as well as give you some good ideas for unique wedding favors.

Bridal Shower – You have to decide where the Bridal Shower will be and who is going to pay for this? In some areas of the country, it is customary for the girls in the bridal party to pay for the shower, in other areas, it’s the groom’s mom and in some parts, it is given by the bride’s mother. Also, the Bridal Shower normally is held 4-8 weeks before the wedding and don’t forget to add to your list some cute bridal shower favors.

Select the photographer/videographer – Be very careful here! This is what you will be looking at for many years to come. Check out many photographers and look at their work. Ask him for a couple of references and if you feel to, call them. Again, the best way to avoid any wedding vendor disaster, is word of mouth.

Flowers – Flowers are gorgeous at a wedding, but be careful. This can easily put your budget into the red. Decide what kinds of flowers the bride will hold and what the bridal party will carry. Again, if you want to stay in budget, a single rose is very elegant. If budget isn’t an issue, then go for it! Skies the limit! But remember, references are very important for this also. Once you walk into the reception and the flowers are on the table, you’re stuck with them! But if you add candles to your flowers at the reception as well as some great candle wedding favors, it would look amazing.

Limos – You have to decide if you will be driven to the ceremony and reception by a limousine service or will family/friends drive you. Also, if you go for limos, do you also want one for the bridal party and parents? Decisions decisions decisions… Again, this adds dollars to your budget. If you’re being cautious, have a friend or family member with a really nice car escort you.

Wedding Cake – Find a banquet hall that includes the cake at no extra charge. Many of them do. They’ll just want to know the colors you want on it. Some places allow you to pick from photos of different cakes. There are also upgrades. Be careful with your spending! When you’re looking at the gorgeous cakes, you’ll say, “But it’s only another $100.” Remember, $100 here, $100 there; it all adds up quickly!

Reception Music – Band or D.J. – totally your preference and pocketbook. Bands are generally more expensive, but some people wouldn’t consider anything but a live band. Others could care less. But if you are considering a band, go to wedding band sampler nights. And then speak to the group after. Ask them if they can play your “wedding song” (yes, you have to pick that!) and other types of music that you like. And of course, ask them their price and if they expect to be fed. I know that’s tough to ask, but with prices per person anywhere from $40-300 a head, you better know if they expect that or not.

Honeymoon – Ah…finally…some peace and quiet! Well, perhaps, if you’ve decided to go to a desert island. Be very careful when booking this. Get recommendations from your friends and family. This beautiful event can turn into a nightmare without the right planning.

Mark all of these in your wedding book, each on its own page. Keep a log of every vendor, their prices and any information they gave you that is important. Use this as a guideline. It will make your life easier, and you may actually enjoy your own wedding! Congratulations!

The arena into Rome | Stadio Olympico | Stage Roma

Friday, July 3rd, 2009

This item is about a monument in the heart of Rome where the Romans go often and yet does not date from antiquity!

Visits are planned, so if you have an appartement rome or location rome you can get there.

Time and again called the Stadio Olimpico di Roma is the stade of Rome. The two main football teams play (the Lazio and Roma, see earlier theme). It was built in 1953 and hosted the Summer Olympics of 1960 and hosted the final of the football world in 1990.
It has a little over 72 000 places, which is entering the top ten of the ten largest stadiums in Europe!

History:

Located on a former training ground of the army (in 1920), the place that hosts the current stage has seen a sports complex constructed in 1928 with the project of a large stadium in the center. But the fascist regime of Mussolini preferred to develop the Stadio Nazionale del PNF which is located nearly.

After the Second World War, the architect Annibale Vitellozzi receives a request from the Italian Olympic Committee to build a stadium very large. It will be inaugurated on 17 May 1953 by a football match between Italy and Hungary.

The stadium is to host the 1960 Olympics including an episode that will mark the world: the Ethiopian Abebe Bikila won the marathon and beat the world record for having participated in bare feet and Italian Livio Berruti sprinter became the first non-American to win the 200 meters in a stadium in heat!

Where is the best place in Brazil to buy land?

Thursday, June 18th, 2009

Being one of Brazil’s wealthiest, most progressively developed and most attractive regions, Fortaleza is quickly advancing as one of the country’s most attractive regions.

If you are just beginning to consider a Brazil property investment, you might be wondering why so many people and property investment agencies are highlighting the benefits of buying property in Fortaleza.

Well, there are many factors, including a sound economy and booming tourist industry.

In recognition of the region’s great income making potential, the Brazilian government has invested large amounts of money back into the state of Ceará, of which Fortaleza is the capital.

Fortaleza is considered by locals to be more exotic & exciting than other popular cities like Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo, Fortaleza is a common vacation destination of many Brazilians as well as international travelers, which has made Fortaleza real estate an excellent prospect, especially for investors that are eager to make good financial returns.

Brazil’s ThrivingEconomy
within the next 40 years, Brazil already commands the tenth largest economy on the planet.

What as the factors for Brazil to take such a commanding stance amongst the world’s leading economies?

One of the many factors is an efficient use and exploitation of Brazil’s natural resources like ethanol & oil for example as they are found abundantly in Brazil. The ability to manufacture and export desirable goods such as these have enabled Brazil to position the country with a unique economic position that is greatly independent of imported goods, and enabled it to remain strong despite the recent and current global economic downturn.

As well as the strong and stable economy, the one of its best assets, and is strong factor helping drive the real estate investment market in Fortaleza as many private investors whom are looking for a beautiful place to live or build a dream holiday home are considering to Fortaleza which has now emerged as a very popular destination of land for sale in Brazil and this fact is making Fortaleza property investment an attractive prospect for many overseas investors. Home to amazing beaches and pristine rainforest habitats, the tourism industry in Fortaleza is one of the most successful in the world, with at least a 25 percent increase in revenue predicted for the coming years.

Driven by the overall growth in tourism in the region, Fortaleza property investment is also increasing, with an intense increase in the demand for short term rental properties for people on vacation. And although developers are scrambling to keep up with the demand, there is still a shortage of both in-hotel and stand alone villas and apartments for rent. This makes Fortaleza extremely attractive for investors interested in an immediate return on their money.

Cultural walking in St Petersburgh

Monday, June 1st, 2009

Summertime is here again and you may be planning the best summer experience in advance. Something that is unique and adventurous. Going to the beach is a very common place, to go to as is going camping or doing a regular activity with the family. If you want to have something unique, you may want to try and visit somewhere like Rio de Janeiro, Lake Orta, Savonlinna  or St Petersburgh.
Today, cultural walking tours can be found that really capture the essence of their respective customers. A visit to Rio de Janeiro, Lake Orta, Savonlinna or St Petersburgh is a new experience for everyone. And being as unique as they are, you may want to know several facts about what you might find that you may not know. Let me give you four of them.
The first thing is that each region is offering something different and you have to be clear about what you want. We can divide the experience that they are offering from animals, culture, and national parks. Let me elaborate on these categories. If you want to have contact with the wild animals, you may go to areas within this region that allows you to view the the fauna in their natural habitat. The animals in these areas offer you the chance to go gorilla trekking or chimpanzee tracking. When it comes to having a taste of culture or immersion, the best places to go can be found within that particular walking holiday. When it comes to natural parks, these areas have some outstanding scenary and wildlife which shouldnt be missed.
The second thing is that if you thought that a cultural walking tour cant offer you enough comfort during your stay, then think again. Today, there are a number of amazingly luxurious establishments that are often part of the routes, and most tastes are catered to. So even if you visit an extremely out of the way area, you can still have a good nights rest with this sort of accommodation.
Transportation in these regions is all organised for you with walking stops encorporating accommodation. Transportation to other areas that encorporate the best from each region is arranged and we ensure that the length of the walks wont overstretch you. This leaves you with energy to spare to look round the amazing architecture and sites.
Finally, by talking to the provider of your cultural walking holiday you can ensure that you are steered in the right direction, to allow you to get the most out of your holiday whether it be in Rio de Janeiro, Lake Orta, Savonlinna or St Petersburgh.
These are just a few facts that you may not know. The main thing in visiting these areas depends on your preference. As long as its safe, there is nothing to stop you from doing the things that you want to do or what you want to experience.

Why invest in Caponga Beach land plots in Brazil?

Saturday, April 25th, 2009

Caponga Beach is a very good opportunity in, Fortaleza, Brazil. This land for sale in Brazil stands out from other land purchase opportunities because full infrastructure, such as power, roads & curbs, streetlamps, benches and grass are all ready in place. This enables the buyers in this project about two years ahead of the competition.

A small initial investment of £7.5K before legal costs for a plot will net more than £21K in three years.

Professional developers or those with over £100,000 cash to invest can achieve profits of over £600,000 over the same time period. These figures are not the maximum achievable but an modest estimation of the financial returns you can make from this Brazil land for sale.

Caponga Beach provides investors with a choice of 4 investment strategies

Buy a villa plot, build and sell villa within two years

Invest in 16 plots and develop up to 16 villas for resale (an option favoured by most of our developer investors)

Invest in a block, arrange specific planning and build options and sell on as a project

Known as the Land of the Sun, Caponga Beach is in a great location in the state of Ceará, Brazil and only half an hour from the bustling capital city of Fortaleza.

The area is one of Brazil’s main tourist destinations and offers miles upon miles of perfect white powder sandy beaches and ideal sunny year round climate.

At the moment, Caponga Beach could be considered a sleepy local fishing village with a ranges of fish restaurants, bars, a hotel and a dozen fishing boats. However, the planned expansion around the local area is massive with at least five new developments having already been approved.

These investments include Aguas Belas, adjacent to the Caponga Beach site and consist of an 18-hole golf resort, hotels, spas and over 1,400 residences of apartments and villas while another offers a beach club with several hundred apartments. There is a further area with full planning permission for 3,000 detached villas and to complete the picture there is a proposed new marina at the river mouth.

Caponga Beach is going to be one of Ceará’s fastest growing and successful vacation resorts with exciting and unrivalled investment properties to choose from.

Brazil property market is driven by strong ecomony

Friday, March 27th, 2009

Brazil has numerous natural resources and because of favourable agricultural climate and vast areas of rich fertile agricultural land; it is a world leader in the production and trade of many important commodities such as ethanol, coffee, soybeans, oranges and sugarcane.

Today more and more people and businesses are looking for land for sale in Brazil for both agricultural as well as tourist resorts and residential property development.

The recent sharp increase in commodity prices and the integration of China, a major buyer of commodities, into the world economy have facilitated a further boost to the Brazilian economy and balance of trade.

Analysing long term growth, a Goldman Sachs study predicted that Brazil will be one of the top five economies in the world by 2050 and Deutsche Bank confirmed that on the long run the demographics of Brazil favour strong economic growth because of the predicted increase in the Brazil population that is in full time employment.

Fabio Kanczuk, professor of economics at the Universidade de São Paulo said that;

‘Brazil will be attracting large investments from companies interested mainly in the domestic market’

And the “Times” newspaper reported that,

‘Several leading UK city financiers recommended Brazil as it represented very good value for investors.’

These are just some of the many positive economic indicators that are driving the Brazil property market and making it very attractive with investors interested in good financial returns in the future.

Natal’s New Landmark Property Development

Monday, January 26th, 2009

The Cosmopolitan Residential is very attractive with serious property investors as it is a prestigious modern 2 bed tower block and landmark development located in Tirol, Natal’s thriving city centre, close to Midway Mall, a part of Natal with very high demand for quality accommodation and as such quality properties in the area have strong capital growth predictions. Research and statistics show that prices in the Tirol area has increased by an average of 50% over the last 3 years and this trend show no sign of slowing down.

Northeast of Brazil – Hotspot
One of the main states driving the property market in Brazil is Rio Grande do Norte and has a highlighted position among the states with best socioeconomic indicators.

The main factors for the impressive development of Brazil property investment in this region is that Rio Grande do Norte is one of the fastest-growing tourist destinations in the world.

Natal
Natal is the capital city of Rio Grande do Norte state. Surrounded by in the whole world. And, of course, being the closest city to Europe in South America makes it a strategic location both for tourists and investors.

Tirol
Located in the heart of Natal is Tirol, the most luxury area of Natal. Tirol is the main centre in town where most valuated properties including offices can be found situated right along side the beat schools, banks, medical centres, restaurants & cinemas as well as Natal’s best and larger Shopping Centre.

With direct access to the “Park of the Dunes” –natural reservation of Atlantic Forest– and to many beaches, Tirol enjoys a privileged location. And being the city’s central area turns the neighbourhood into one of the safest and best connected in town.

Just like any centre of a major city, Not differently from any big city, the centre of Natal has developed into a safe port and a major business centre. Today, demand for real estate in Tirol is very high because of the current low level of supply of quality properties in relation to demand and to the fact that it’s simply the most valuated area in town.

Cosmopolitan Residential is the new landmark project offering top quality Natal apartments for investors to benefit from the high level of demand for property in the area.

Cosmopolitan Residential attractions

Positioned right in the centre of Natal, Tirol

Close to Midway Mall, Natal’s largest Shopping Centre

Interesting re-sales opportunity: Shortage of housing for middle class therefore good exit strategy

Strong demand from the buy to let market

As the investment is in the sustainable growth of the Brazil residential growth market it is said to be low risk

As this property in Brazil is located in the very centre of Natal in Tirol and next to the biggest urban reservations of Atlantic Forest in Brazil, Cosmopolitan is a landmark development for Natal, with strong ROI.
