All the Interesting Tips About Disneyland Vacation Which Readers Could Find Useful

Still we were not big travelers, and still I couldn’t fathom the heat in southern California at which days of year (no 1 in their right minds needed plus size leather jackets!), when my fiancé asked me where we should go on a short, affordable honeymoon, I suggested a Disneyland vacation. So what which we were grown adults. So what which neither of us cared for intense rides which make you throw up or standing in lines which seemed to threaten hours of misery. We made plans for our Disneyland vacation, foregoing the Disneyland hotel (in favor of cheaper digs, as we might only be in the room to shower and sleep), and deciding to drive (as we were only a few hundred miles away). It wasn’t as drawn out a judgment as when I resolved on a career in personal training, it was more of a snap thing.

I love amusement park environments: I love the human beings, who have let their hair down and let go of formalities, temporarily; I love the scenes to observe and enjoy; and I love the country fair snacks which 1 typically indulges in only once or twice a year—the fudge, the hot fudge sundaes in massive waffle cones, the cotton candy…. When I got to the gates, to start my 2-day Disneyland vacation, still, I thought I might change my mind. There were hundreds of human beings, not so much crowded and ready to burst through the entrance in energized, frenzied television commercial joy, but still, in fantastic suffocating numbers. But, my apprehension was assuaged when the gates did open and the human beings disbursed, walking with acceptable of space between us into the park, instantly going into the closest food or rest stop building or walking into the building where Abe Lincoln gives the Gettysburg Address. (If you have made a long drive right before beginning your Disneyland vacation and are parched, tired, and of course gullible, the wax figures become so alive for you it’s startling…. A fantastic street to start your Disneyland vacation experience, which is surreal at most times, anyway!)

My new spouse loved Michael Jackson at which days. He imitated Michael, performed singing and dancing to his albums, and was enormously energized to see the “new” 3-D movie with Michael and his troupe performing “Thriller”. I dreaded the lines, but was soon surprised and corrected: not only was the wait agreeable, but the entry after the wait was manageable: those staffed at Disneyland’s theatre instructed (and, where necessary, insisted) each person entering move all the street to the far side of the theatre, sitting in the next available seat, orderly and successively…not just running to any old seat, changing your mind, switching, stumbling, bumping, and holding up the procedure. It was an organizational experience I have referred to for countless years after, markedly when trying to figure out how to get rid of credit card debt.

The Disneyland vacation, besides including all of the foods at the park I craved, had, in those early eighties, agreeable thrill-seeker rides, beautifully inventive rides, and nostalgia shops (for human beings like me, who had watched Annette and the other mousketeers, had faithfully watched The Great Planet of Disney each weekend, but had not ever had any Mickey Mouse ears or had not ever laid eyes on the real castle or other characters). And most impressive of all, besides the organization, were the spaciousness and the cleanliness of the park. What an entirely superb Disneyland vacation. I am these days forty-something, but I wanna go back!!!!

Disney Vacations

Tuesday, November 25th, 2008

Southern California is the place to be for fun. There are amusements parks, aquariums, zoos, museums, water parks, nature parks, mountains, beaches, deserts and more.

A new attraction to Southern California is Disney’s California Adventure. Inside this disneyland vacation you will find a boardwalk along a large lake with rides such as a marine life merry-go-round, a huge Ferris wheel, and a roller coaster that only the hardiest stomachs can handle. A favorite attraction is California Soarin’, a ride that simulates a hang gliding tour over many scenic and popular California spots.

Be sure to visit the sourdough bread factory. There you will find that for a reasonable price you can make a meal of their delicious, fresh sourdough bread and butter.

If it is a hot day come prepared to get wet. There is a great river rapids ride and there are several spots around the park for children to have fun with sprinklers and fountains.

With a two-park pass you can visit both California Adventure and Disneyland. In the summer disney vacations are open till after midnight so you can enjoy California Adventure in the morning and early afternoon and then cross over to a disneyland vacation for the rest of the day to enjoy their rides, the parade and the fireworks show.

A short drive up Interstate 5 takes you to Knott’s Berry Farm, another very popular spot for vacationers and local families wanting to spend time together having fun.

Camp Snoopy provides loads of fun for the younger kids. There you find a pony ride, petting farm, small Ferris wheel and several more rides that children want to go on over and over again. Knott’s also has great roller coasters and other rides, including a stage coach, river rapids ride and log ride as well as several shows.

After a day running around seeing the shows and enjoying the rides you will want to visit the famous Knott’s Chicken Dinner Restaurant. Delicious fried chicken, mouth-watering biscuits and everything topped off with their famous boysenberry pie. It cannot be beat.

Further up Interstate 5 you come to Six Flags Magic Mountain, which is full of roller coasters of every type. For the very young there is a children’s area with rides they will love. Be prepared for higher temperatures in the summer than Disneyland or Knott’s, but if you have teenagers or if you love adventure yourself you do not want to miss it.

Heading south on Interstate 5 about 150 miles you come to a fairly new amusement park, LegoLand. With over 50 rides, shows and attractions it is another Southern California amusement park that takes at least a full day to get around.

They have rides especially for the very young including a miniature train and a boat ride that gently takes you through some favorite fairy tales. There are several water play areas and of course legos to play with. For older children and adults there are roller coasters, water rides, and more.

All of these parks are loaded with fun and all are located a short drive from each other. If you are traveling from out of the area and plan to stay in a hotel, there are many that offer shuttles that provide easy transportation to and from the parks.

Disney World Vacation: Some Of The Lands Waiting For You

Tuesday, September 30th, 2008

Your Disney holiday may start with Cinderella’s majestic castle. Bathed in purple and pink nightlights, it draws millions of visitors to Disney’s Magic Kingdom each year. Aside from being a fantastic photo op, the unique architectural elements from Missouri and New England to create its “Main Street” section, where parades pass by and fireworks explode in the sky is a sight to see. Once you walk through the entranceway with buildings inspired by Lady and the Tramp, you’ll notice that there are names and plaques of people who are connected to Disney somehow, which is designed like the “opening credits.” Here you’ll experience several different lands all in one park and each land has been constructed so that cast members use secret corridors, to maintain each park’s authenticity. You’ll find that it’s the minor details that make the experience so endearing.

Once guests pass through the Main Street “opening credits,” as the Disneyworld imagineers call them, Tomorrowland appears to the right. This part of the Magic Kingdom was designed to look like the future, as 1920s science fiction writers imagined it. Space Mountain, a fast-moving indoor rollercoaster, is by far the most popular attraction at Disney, as a whole. Kids will love Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin that puts you right in the middle of an arcade game. Parents will marvel at one of the oldest Disney rides, the Carousel of Progress. Kids will also enjoy the neighboring Mickey’s Toon Town fair, where they can climb through cartoon replica houses and ride Goofy’s barnstormer mini-rollercoaster.

Following the Magic Kingdom around, guests will enter Fantasyland. Your Disney holiday wouldn’t be complete without a stop at Cinderella’s castle! Inside her castle there are the family coat of arms and mosaic murals. The second floor houses Cinderella’s Royal Table restaurant but you’ll need a reservation to get a seat. The Cinderella Suite is also on one of the upper floors of the 180 feet tall castle and is one of the most coveted prizes Disney has to offer. However, for the other guests, Fantasyland has many low-impact rides, suitable for young children. “It’s a Small World” is a popular ride here, as is the Mad Tea Party and Cinderella’s Golden Carousel. The Pinnochio Haus is a great place to grab double cheeseburgers and “Figaro” fries on the cheap!

The next Magic Kingdom land you’ll find yourself in is Liberty Square, home to the Hall of Presidents, the Liberty Square Riverboat and the extremely popular, and spooky, Haunted Mansion. The exterior of the Haunted Mansion was completed in 1963, but the imagineers couldn’t decide what to do with the interior until 1971, when it finally opened! Inside this Gothic 18th Century Hudson River Valley manor, you’ll find 999 spectacular ghosts! The mansion is more “cool” than seriously terrifying, but you may not want to bring very young children all the same.
